Guidelines for Article Preparation
- Papers submitted to the Congress will be published as an edited book please read the referencing style and formatting guidelines below carefully.
- Papers should be sent to balkanenstitusu@hotmail.com by October 1st, 2012. Papers received after this date will not be published.
- The language of the paper should be in Turkish or English. Full-papers should be typewritten on A4/letter pages with margins of 2.5 cms on all sides, There is no page limitation for the articles but bibliography must be included.
-The paper should contain an abstract of 50-100 words and at least five keywords. Abstracts should be single-spaced and written in 10 point font.
– The title of the article should be in CAPITAL LETTERS, bold and written in 14 point font.
– Roman numerals should be used for all the figures included in the title.
– Footnotes should be written in 10 point font and aligned.
- The title should be followed by the author(s)’s name(s). The author(s)s’ name(s) and surname(s) should be left-aligned and written in 11 point font. Author(s)’s surname(s) should be followed by a superscript asterisk *, and institutional affiliation (s) of the author (s), (with e-mail address) should be presented as a footnote following the superscript asterisk (*).
- The paper should be single-spaced and aligned, and written in Times New Roman 12 point font.
- The sub-headings and the headings for tables and diagrams in the body of the text should be written in 11 point font, bold type with the first letter of each word capitalized.

- Tables, graphs and diagrams must be enumerated like Table-1, Table-2 etc.
- Heading (i.e., Table I) should be centered and use roman numerals. The title of the table should be centered in initial capitals and lowercase letters.
- References to books should give the author’s first name and surname; the title of the book should be in italics; and the place, publisher and year of publication should follow in brackets. All of this information must be provided.

- References to articles should give the author’s first name and surname, the title of the article in single quotation marks, the name of the Journals in italics, the number of the volume, the year of publication, and the page numbers:

References to theses should be treated as articles, but the name of the University should also appear in brackets:

- Short quotations should be enclosed in double quotation marks, and incorporated into the text (e.g. “…”). Longer quotations should start on a new line (without quotation marks) in block format, with each line indented 2 cms from the left margin, and with double-spacing between the quote and the surrounding text. Longer quotations should be written in 10 point font.
- Bibliography should be given at the end of the text and should be listed alphabetically and organized as in the examples below.

Addenda
-Additional picture, graph, figure etc should be placed at the end of the paper on separate pages. The figure number (i.e., Figure I) should be centered and should use roman numerals. Titles of figures should use capitals and lowercase letters and be centered below the figure number.
